Marcella Burke was quoted in Bloomberg Law on the Trump Administration’s renewed focus on Superfund cleanups and the policy shift to accelerate remediation of contaminated sites nationwide.
The article, “Trump’s EPA Shifts to Make Superfund Cleanups a Central Mission,” reported on EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin’s plan to speed up the cleanup of hundreds of contaminated sites across the country during the second Trump Administration, who has made visits to sites in Colorado, Missouri, and New Jersey since being confirmed in January.
“The administration’s probably focused on Superfund because of its tangible results for local communities harmed by toxic substances, like East Palestine,” in Ohio, said Burke. “It directly benefits Americans who need resources and solutions.”
Her perspective highlighted how the administration is positioning Superfund efforts as a visible and immediate way to demonstrate progress on environmental issues that directly impact communities.
