Presentation on “Weathering the Storm: Issues, Considerations, and Best Practices in Representing E&P Clients in Severe Financial Distress” by Paul Simon at the 72nd Annual Mineral Law Institute

Paul Simon spoke at the 72nd Annual Mineral Law Institute, held at LSU Law Center on March 20–21, 2025, recognized as the oldest mineral law conference and the second oldest energy law conference in the U.S.

He co-presented with Amelia Hurt, Bankruptcy and Restructuring Attorney at Kelly Hart & Hallman, LLP, on the panel titled “Weathering the Storm: Issues, Considerations, and Best Practices in Representing E&P Clients in Severe Financial Distress.” The session addressed challenges faced by upstream oil and gas companies navigating financial instability, legislative considerations, and strategic counsel during distress.

The conference featured LSU faculty and alumni alongside esteemed guest speakers covering a wide range of oil, gas, and mineral law topics.
