Marcella Burke represents former Marvel executive Robert Steffens in his lawsuit against Disney alleging age and race discrimination.
Fox News reported on a high-profile employment discrimination case filed against Disney by Robert Steffens, who served as CFO and later Co-President of Marvel from 2015 to 2023.
In his lawsuit, Steffens alleged that then-Marvel CEO Isaac Perlmutter told him in February 2022 that word had come from then-Disney CEO Bob Chapek that he would not be promoted to President of Disney Consumer Products because the company could not award the job to “another old White guy.” According to the complaint, the position was subsequently given to a woman of “ambiguous ethnicity.”
Burke, speaking to Fox News Digital, stated, “Our primary focus is on the facts and the law, and we will vigorously defend our client’s interests.”
The lawsuit comes as the television and entertainment juggernaut has announced they are turning away from some of their DEI initiatives.
