Biography
Josh Wright is a leading antitrust attorney and regulatory litigator with experience across federal, state, and private practice. He served as commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from 2013 to 2015. He advises industry-leading clients on complex antitrust, consumer protection, regulatory, and litigation matters, with a focus on high profile issues and appeals.
Josh defends clients in high-stakes state and federal antitrust and consumer protection investigations and litigation involving alleged unlawful price-fixing, monopolization, mergers, as well as deceptive or unfair acts and practices. He has successfully navigated clients through antitrust and consumer protection matters whether brought directly by a regulatory agency in administrative settings or through the government in a civil proceeding. Josh has also advised numerous Fortune 100 companies in government investigations and merger reviews, achieving global clearances and successful resolutions. Josh also a robust counseling practice, helping clients develop compliance programs and business strategies that minimize antitrust and regulatory risk.
Josh was previously a professor of law at Scalia Law School for twenty years where he also served as executive director of the Global Antitrust Institute and was responsible for teaching antitrust principles to hundreds of federal and state judges. He authored the leading antitrust casebook and is among the most cited antitrust scholars in the world. Josh clerked for Judge James V. Selna of the Central District of California after earning a JD and a Ph.D. in economics from University of California at Los Angeles.
